Meeting 1

time: half past 12 (4/7/08)

summary of discussion:
- thesis should consist of:
1. Intro
2. LR (around 56 pages)- should start with a broad topic, then narrow
3. experimental set up/introductory to the area of research
4. ...
.
.
7.
8. Conclusion
9. References

Item 3 to 7 is about our RESEARCH, should produce paper from each (impossible! it's hard for me)
Year 1: reading a lot of papers
Year 2: research/experiment
Year 3: writing

(I don't think can finish in three years..but I will try...)

The topic would potentially be Sport Scheduling..
Read the following books:
1. Peter Brucker (Scheduling algorithms ISBN:3540415106),
2. Michael Pinedo (Scheduling: Theory, Algorithms, and Systems)
3. read more about meta-H,H
4. look into Rong Qu's paper on Nurse Rostering Problem)

it is crucial to efficiently manage our research/works and time.. keep record of any progress as well as references because later on it might be useful.

Sv strongly recommended that to use LATEX in thesis writing.

end at 1.05pm
